And the problem with the suggested prize of a Athlon 64 chip is that it then forces the user to get a new motherboard since they can't just plug it in an go.
I think sticking to a Peripheral would be a better choice for a prize.

Not everybody is gonna be into any one thing here so we are always going to be faced with that situation STK. There are people on this forum not comfortable building a PC yet - what about them? They wouldn't like a CPU + Mobo combo except maybe to sell it. I think a game would make an excellent runner up prize since, from what I can tell, most of us play PC games here.

A hard drive mp3 player would be cool. I have been thinking about getting one. It's a peripheral so all you need would be a computer and some mp3s. Where those mp3s come from is none of my business. :angel:

Doom III??? Are you on crack that could be the last place prize. A $50 game as a prize as to a kickass X800. It doesn't take alot to say which you would want. I say X800 as one prize. Who wouldn't want one? An X800 would require no upgrading of anything so its a win, win situation. Come'on.... come'on now.

I believe I read earlier on gift certs from Newegg as well. I think those would be well-received.

First Prize: X800 / $200 Newegg GC
Second Prize: 512MB Corsair PC4000 / $100 Newegg GC
Third Prize: Doom3/*game* / $50 Newegg GC

If we were to make the grand prize newegg GC worth what a A64 and mobo is, it'd have to be like $500, then the first prize would be like $400, and that be really expensive, maybe not possible?
