Keyboard recognized but not working

Hello I just finished building a PC and bought a new keyboard: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B074QM6F7X/?tag=httpwwwtechsp-20

However, whenever I plug it in, it is recognized by Windows and shows it installed the drivers, but does not work. I've tried reinstalling the drivers, re-plugging and rebooting, and downloading the drivers directly from their website but nothing seems to work. Any advice or is it DOA? Any help is appreciated!

Hi Here's the best I can do for you. You may get more replies from other members latter.
PS What were you using before you bought this new KB? Welcome to Techspot. Enjoy your stay here!

Hello, and thanks for the quick reply!
To respond to the solution you gave me, I have tried variants of what is on the website, however I will be sure to give them a second go but they haven't worked before.
And for the previous keyboard, I don't know the exact keyboard, but it is just a cheap wireless USB keyboard/mouse combo I bought for like $20 a year back. This keyboard still works perfectly, it's the new keyboard that isn't working at all. I would think it's DOA, but as explained in the post, it still gets recognized by windows, it just doesn't do anything.

Hi Thanks for your reply. Like I said I don't usually recommend 3rd party driver programs, but on rare occasions I have had success with them. I would only use the free version and only install the KB driver. You may be right; it's DOA
Surely there is a warranty on the KB!;)
PS It looks like you have done a lot of searching and tried a lot of things(DOA)??

Yea that's what I'm thinking, I bought the keyboard cause of the thinner buttons and the positive reviews so I didn't think too much of it. Anyway I sent them an email to see what they suggest, it does say on a card in the box that it has an 18 month warrenty

(y)Time to see if the warranty is any good.;) Thanks for you reply! Please come back and share with us what you find about your issue.

FWIW, any keyboard, (or mouse), should work, whether wired or wireless, without installing the drivers than come with it. Those drivers are to open up special features specific to the device. So, whether the board is PS-2, USB, or USB wired, you should get a message when it's plugged in, "The drivers have been installed, and your new device is ready for use".

If this is a wirelss device, I'd suggest replacing the batteries which came with it, and clean the battery contacts with a pencil eraser or rubbing alcohol, as a simple "process of elimination test.

As I said, you don't need the drivers which came with the keyboard to work as a "qwerty" device..
