Hey all, I followed the Virus/Spyware/Malware post, and will post what logs I have of em here.

The laptop she has runs pretty slow, the startup takes awhile to load, and sometimes her IE shuts off unexpectedly.

If any of you could help me out, it would be much appreciated. :)

I'm sorry, but that was disrespectful Don Frag. Thanks for your input trying to help, but please be a little more respectful in answering.

As for the Super Anti Spyware program, it was recommended by this forum, so I'm pretty sure it's safe to use.

Does anyone have any other recommendations? I really need to get her laptop running smoothly for school.

Thanks. :)

Try the below. Someone hopefully will check your logs soon

Please do this
(Some members say they have already tried this in a reply; but later I find it has not been done!)
The following not only resets all Internet Explorer's settings, but also removes all temp files, all extensions are disabled (toolbars, browser extensions, and Browser Helper Objects), and activeX controls are restored.

How to use Reset Internet Explorer Settings (RIES

To use RIES in Internet Explorer 7, follow these steps:

1. Click the Tools menu, and then click Internet Options.
2. On the Advanced tab, click Reset.
3. In the Reset Internet Explorer Settings dialog box, click Reset.
4. When Internet Explorer 7 finishes restoring the default settings, click Close, and then click OK two times.
5. Close Internet Explorer 7. The changes take effect the next time that you open Internet Explorer 7.

Note for users who cannot start Internet Explorer 7 for some reason, use RIES from Internet Options in Control Panel.

well for one, get mozilla firefox, not ie :D
also I recommend AVG Free, or AVG Internet Security if you are willing to pay, I use AVG free and never had any problems

Hi Sensible :

The SUPERAntiSpyware & Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware are 2 of the very Best
antiSPYWARE/antiTROJAN programs nowadays and are recommended by many
certified "Malware Removal Specialists" on many Support Forums; they found
many "Adware" and some "Trojans" and the only "category" of malware they do
NOT "deal" with are called "rootkits" . To explore that possibility, I recommend you
use the FREE "Rootkit Revealer", available from
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb897445.aspx . This program
provides INFO ONLY and will NOT remove any rootkits . Just PRIOR to running Its
Scan, "Delete" all the "Temporary Internet Files" on the computer ; should ALSO
follow the Guidelines of the 1st 2 Threads, started by "namrehto", at
http://forum.sysinternals.com/forum_topics.asp?FID=15 . Report Its "Findings",
IF any, in your next Post .

Based on WHAT was "Detected" by the 2 programs, I recommend the FREE
"SpywareBlaster" from www.javacoolsoftware.com be installed . There is an
excellent "Tutorial" on this program at www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/turorial49.html ; however, I do NOT recommend use of Its "System Snapshot" .
