Laptop to TV problems

hello all. i have never posted anything before, so this is my first. I have a laptop acer aspire 3680. i purchased a grandtec pc to video ez in order to use the tv as monitor. tv only has video in/out and audio in/out and does not have s-video. So, the grandtec convertor is the inbetween box. if i boot up than the tv will show the boot up process, but when windows comes up, the tv cancels out and the laptop comes up. can i see the laptop on the tv when windows is up? anyways, thanks for assisting.

Check if all the cable is well plug and that your grandtec is for that laptop exactly...
