Laptop won't Bootup

I have an ASUS laptop with windows 7 that won't Bootup and I have tried sysytem restore but still won't get past the Startup Repair utility? Any help would be much appreciated.

[FONT=verdana]If you are running Windows XP try to go in safe mode tapping F8 while booting. If you can do that, we are on the way to recovery.[/FONT]

If there is more than 1 RAM on the PC, please use 1 at a time.[/FONT][/LEFT]
[LEFT][FONT=helvetica]also discharge and reset the mainboard by doing the following:[/FONT][/LEFT]
[LEFT][FONT=helvetica]Unplug the AC adapter and remove battery, pressing the power button over 15 seconds do not let go.
Then connect the AC adapter only and power on the laptop.[/FONT][/LEFT]
