Laptop won't start, might be dead

I've got a Compaq nc6000. When I power it on the lights turn on and the fans spin but before anything shows on the screen it turns off. I tried two power adapters and both of them turned on the "plugged-in" light.

Could be a faulty power socket. So does nothing show? not even access to the BIOS?

Nothing. It doesn't make any beeps.

Would you by any chance have access to a spare battery?

have you tried booting without the power cable?

I take back what I said about the "plugged in light" being on. It's screwy.
I tried booting it will unplugged and the same thing happened.
I'll look for another battery.

Couldn't find another battery. I think the laptop is dead.

sounds like there might be a mobo fault think ur right the laptop is dead.
