Latitude 2110 won't post

Hi everyone. I just got a Dell Latitude 2110,that will NOT POST when the Bottom Base is attached.
Without the Base and just AC Adapter no problem,it starts the diagnostic run thru. With the Bottom Base it WILL NOT POST. I know I"m using the correct screws ( 6 only req'd. ) because I have another 2110 to compare. What's up with the screws? Help PLEASE.
I need to load OS.
Thanking you in advance for any input.

Try just installing 2 screws in random positions. If it still won't post remove one of the two screws. If it POST's add 1 screw at a time till it stops posting... or finally works

I tried that already. Could it have something to do with screws being magnetized ? Or holding a charge. Excuse me if these are silly questions.

WOW got it to post, base attached all screws in. Loaded OS boots up shuts down no problem. Except when I put battery in. THEN NOTHING.

Replace the battery or run the laptop without it, for a while. If the battery is over 1 year old, it might need replacement anyway
