Still waiting for that perfect little netbook to pop up and convince you there's a void to fill between your smartphone and laptop? Well, LG's X140 probably isn't it – but that doesn't take away from what the little guy has to offer: a 10.1-inch 1366x768 LED-backlit display, a 1.83GHz Intel Atom N475, 2GB of RAM, and a 320GB HDD. That's boosted from the 1024x600 pixel screen, 1.66GHz N450, 1GB of RAM, and 160GB to 250GB of storage that most standard 10.1-inch netbooks currently carry. Unfortunately, the beefed up specs end there.

Instead of an Nvidia Ion GPU, the machine uses Intel's GMA 3150 integrated solution, and it ships with the scantly Windows 7 Starter edition. Other details include a 1.3MP webcam and LG's Smart POP software comes preloaded, which supposedly simplifies file and contact transfers between PCs and phones along with letting users call or send SMS direct from the netbook. The X140 weighs 1.3kg/2.9lbs with a six-cell battery that provides up to nine hours of life, and it's shipping to UAE customers for a rough price equivalent of $490.

This would be great with Nvidia Ion and 7 Home Premium. Its a shame as the keyboard is the type of keyboard I like! well at least the picture makes it look so.
