Memory cannot be read

i was making a website and i was going to open notepad i get a error message say memory cannot be read
i cannot open anything
any help?

If you want help, you're going to have to give us something to work with.:

1.Start with system specs..
2. Give full memory error
3. Check Event Viewer for Error corresponding to time of memory error message.

genuine intel CPU T2300 @ 1.66GHz
504MB of ram
compaq nx6320

the memory "0x0096ce1a" and "0x000be000"
theres no warnings it only Infomation

i get when the laptop starts up when its trying to open the processes
i cannot open internet, word 2007, outlook, i cannot go into properties
it will always come up with a memory error

Try:

MemScope (Floppy and CD images.)
Microsoft Memory Test (floppy or CD ISO image)
Memtest86

If you have enough memory sticks, you can test them by removing one at a time and see if the problem disappears.

well i turned it off last night and i turn it back on the next day and now it gets the BSOD but im just getting a new 1 for free
