It starts very promising but then devolves into the usual girl boss, white man bad tripe. I couldn't finish the second season as it devolves into the average Netflix propaganda with Steve Jobs as the antagonist. Epic facepalm.

Well yes, theres lots of people who genuinely think Disney Star Wars is cinematic art, that Marvel movies are the next Homers Odyssey, who watch Jurassic World films and think they're way better than the original.

I guess you haven't noticed that the Marvel movies are and have been falling out of favor with audiences, partly, IMO, since they are so repetitive. There's only so many times you can see on A-hole beat the crap out of another A-hole without it getting repetitive.

Never used truth social. Just gotta watch the news on BBC and you see what a dystopian hell hole its become. Or you just use your eyes whenever you watch modern media and the moment you start thinking about the story being told, the stereotyping, the terrible writing, ece.

Most American's who live and work in the UK that I know, after they've been here for a little while, all refer to certain American institutions as essentially brain washing, They're told from a young age that they live "in the best country in the world" etc...

I tend to give American's the benefit of the doubt because of this, normally I'd say it's just an over enthusiastic American, but you can find quite a few American's who live in Europe on YouTube, who all seem to have a video on "The American Indoctrination" or whatever they end up calling the video, I think the Polish actually have a saying for America, which loosely translates to "the richest third world country in the world".

Absolutely. My wife's American and she never wants to go back. She very quickly came to realise how she'd been force-fed a lie and how much better our work-life balance was in the UK. Also how much better our whole social structures are. Her family come over quite often now and most of them would like to move here if they could work out how to make it work. I expect the usual Russian trolls and misinformation scaremongers to pipe up in here and start talking nonsense as usual but what can you do?

Yes, I agree that any country that conducts tens of thousands of arrests for saying mean words or disagreeing with the state publically is a hell hole. ?But I also value freedom of speech and oppose tyranny, so if you prefer having an upper class of politicians rule over you I can see how that would be appealing.

Is reading comprehension hard for you? Perhaps you should listen to people when they break modern media down, instead of immediately jumping to the conclusion that they're all MAGA chuds who dont know 'nuttin.

Just off the top of my head: we have the stereotype that any woman shown in modern media has to be strong and independent. Not in an "Ellen Ripley" way where she is an active character, but in the Captain Marvel way where the character is literally "strong", stronger than anyone else, needs no help at any point, and whose "growth is shoving off the shackles of Men in her life to become even more powerful. She experiences no character growth, she is perfection personified. This is the Girlboss stereotype, and EVERY modern female role is seemingly written this way. If you have a woman on screen, she must be this perfect "strong and independent" masculine standoff-ish personality who acts like a complete arse to everyone else who isnt perfect. That's not how real women act, that's a caricature of how social media would think women act, and it is EVERYWHERE.

Terrible writing explains itself. Slow down and actually read out what is being said in these shows. What the characters are saying often either contradicts what has happened previously in the same show, sometimes within a few minutes, or contradicts the character they are trying to portray. Villain characters have no explanation for what they are doing, character development and story beats are done via heavy handed exposition, the list goes on.

I could list more. There's tons of people out there who put this out in an easy to digest form. You just have to be willing to listen to those who disagree with modern media narratives. Try it, and you'll start seeing the same patterns of garbage writing and characters that anyone could do a better job of in almost everything you watch these days, that didnt exist in media of the past.
