Microphone issues

Hello.

I've had my comp for about 2 years , a friend at IT warehouse set it up for me.
A few months ago i bought a new headset for 140 dollars , it has worked perfect up until a week or so ago.

I got a new computer desk and moved my computer to the other side of the room.
I turned it on all worked fine , except when i went on teamspeak it wasn't working , it just makes a loud fuzzing noise , like it captures the first bit of sound it hears and repeats it over and over.

My brothers friend came over and fiddled around with things , he said it may be a problem with my sound card cause we have tried a few other microphones.

Can anyone help me out here , i love using my microphone for teamspeak etc.
Incase it matters .. some info about my comp off xfire

If you are using on-board sound, try installing a PCI sound card and see if the sound returns to normal
