Microsoft Security Essentials freezes

Hi,

Whenever I run a scan using Microsoft security essentials, it will freeze on the following item:
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\OLE\\MachineLanuchRestriction

And will not unfreeze unless I restart the computer and when I run the scan again it will freeze on the same item.

So any help would be great. Thanks.

Try uninstalling MSE. Then reinstall it Sometimes this helps.

As Cobalt006 suggests, uninstall it, reboot & reinstall it.
I'd suggest getting it here https://www.techspot.com/downloads/4886-microsoft-security-essentials.html
save it to your desktop, remove the one you have now,reboot & reinstall . Update it & try scanning again.

Oh, that WOW.....! (hangs head in embarrassment).

Plus there's the added disappointment of not being able to say, "just uninstall World of Warcraft, and get on with your life"
