Modem connects directly to computer but does not work with router

I don't know what to do. I've tried resetting both modem and router, I've also tried cloning the mac address and both of these solutions did not work. I have a belkin n450 router.

So does the router get an IP address from the modem? I think on a belkin it is under connection type->internet settings.

Needs BRIDGE MODE setting in the modem to use a router
