Can't you go to device manager and do a "rollback driver" on it? I'm pretty sure that works without you explicitly creating a restore point.

I did, but the issue persisted, I even uninstalled the drivers completely, removed any traces of it with DCP and reinstalled previous WHQL driver; but I am suspecting that some values/settings in the registry may have escaped DCP, hence the problem is still there. However, their recently released desktop forceware drivers have fixed the issue (according to some discussion forums) so I am hoping the same will be they case when the roll out new drivers for mobile platforms.
