Oooookay mein comrades a.k.a. Fellow Techies!!

The Problem: MSI P45 Platinum MoBo, out of the box.
Wont boot with 6gb Crucial Balistix (sp?) DDR2 800MHz - ram dead or DIMM slot is dead.

She'll boot with a one, 2gb in DIMM one, switched em all, every slot - ONLY DIMM1 works. Currently switching out with 1g KVR800D2.

If anyone has an idea before i RMA this board, please let me know.

Possibly the motherboard DIMM voltage is not set to the right RAM voltage?

Actually, you're 100% Correct, and unfortunately the RAM that the customer had wanted was not the right kind (not approved, from another Forum from MSI website) But luck was with me as I had 3, 2gig (KVR800) sticks in the shop that worked like a charm and my customer is happier than a pig in...you know the line.
The RAM was for a hard core OC'd machine and the 6 gigs that he wanted would not have worked, not matter how hard I would have tried, the system stability was always going to be...well unstable. Quite the learning experience for me, 3.5 hours of overtime to get the rig completed to customer's specs and liking.

Thanks for your very swift response Mailpup =)
