My laptop won't turn on

Hi friends...
It's when I was upgrading my Office 2007 to Office 2010 that my laptop shut down and now it can not show any power sign.This is how it happened.
I was having the setup on my External Hard drive.And when I saw it was taking long to finish the upgrade, I forgot that I was using the External and removed it from the PC.
That sudden it shut down and until now it can't get turned on.
What will I do?

Have you tried a hard start? Disconnect the battery and power cord if plug in. Then hold the power button on the laptop for 30 seconds. The either replace the battery or plug and try and start it. This may work. If so you may want to run a system check on it after if it boots. Other then that maybe someone here will know a little more to help you.
