Need Help Installing Avira

I am trying to install Avira on my computer and I get all the way to extracting the files but then I get this error message:


"The CRC Sum of

C:|DOCUMENT\...\Locals 1\Temp\RAR SFX0\basic\setup.exe
has changed! This could be due to a virus!
Do you want to shutdown setup? "

Can someone help me fix this problem? Thanks

That is a Cyclic Redundancy Check... and can be caused by an infestation or a hardware error.
Download Avira Antivir free version, then save it to a location you can find again.
Then reboot to <SAFE MODE> and try the install over again.

I did what you told me to do which was download the software and re-install it in safe mode. I get the same error message though.

Then I suggest you go to www.majorgeeks.com and look at the registry section. Download the free and simple but powerful RegCleaner by Juoni Viourno.
Install this on the computer, then use it to delete every line that relates to Avir or Antivir or other antiviruses.
then reboot, defragment, and try again
