Need to open the file

Hi guys.
I need to open .PDF extension file but I cannot install Adobe Acrobat Reader. Can anyone advise what another software can open this format file?

There are many programs that will open .pdf files.
Foxit and Sumatra are popular, also Nitro, some programs take up a great deal of hard drive space, so if that's important, a portable version might be one answer, and keep the 'app' off the main PC altogther.
