My laptop worked earlier today. Now it's not working for some reason. My fried is in the same room and can log onto the same network but now wen ever I log onto the network, it will get connected but wen I open my browser (which takes forever to open now, started taking forever wen the Internet stopped working) it says page load error on the tool bar on the top of the window and in the screen is says address not found. My network icon I noticed says "unidentified network (Internet 2) access: local only" I looked at my friends and his says all the same things except no "unidentified network". I ran an ipconfig and noticed my "Autoconfiguration IPv4 Address" is a 169 address. I'm retarded with networking but I remember someone telling me a 169 ip is bad. Can u help me out plz?

Hi

your right the 169 address is one given to you by windows itself, in other words you arent making a connection to the network your using.

is it wireless or wired ?
