So basically I tried building my own computer and everything seemed to work, until I realized I didn't know how to install drivers.
All I did so far was install the xp OS and... that's about it.
Just wondering if anybody knows what drivers I would need initally to run the computer so I can do all the basic tasks.
OS: xp home

You need following drivers to start with:

1. Display Drivers (Windows may have detected and installed Generic drivers)
2. Sound (Windows may have detected and installed Generic drivers)
3. LAN (some adapters are supported by XP by default)
4. Motherboard drivers (e.g. for hardware monitoring)

These are few examples to start with; however, I can help in more detailed way if i knew what is the exact model of your motherboard.

Here is the url for Asus P5N73-AM (nForce 610i) motherboard drivers download.

This contains all the drivers you need; goodluck :)

If you don't have any problems with your setup I wouldn't advise you to touch your system bios. Whereas, for the rest you will need them anyway :)

Is the chipset the driver that'll let me access the internet?
Cause all I really want right now is internet access...

Thanks!

if you need to use your onboard LAN adapter to configure internet connection; you should install them first then.

Of the two downloads available under the "chipsets" tab, choose the top one - 15.24 , this has the Realtek LAN drivers included. The second download (67.7.2.0) is the motherboard chipset only-no LAN driver.
