Hello all,

I recently upgraded to a Ryzen 5 1500X and is currently having trouble booting up the system. I coupled it with an MSI B350M Pro VDH mobo. The rest of the parts are in the pc pp link down below. I came from a Pentium G4560 and an Asus B250MA mobo before this. I've tried practically everything, from reseating the ram and cpu, using a barebones "test bench", to clearing the cmos. All my parts seem to be fine, no bent pins, etc.

I've concluded that either:
a) My bios needs an update
b) Incompatible ram? (see link)

I'm not really sure what to do now, I hope the great people on the internet can give me some advice/information.

Thanks!

Does motherboard manual list memory and CPU on the Qualified Vendor List (QVL)?

Do you get any 'beep codes'? Do you POST? Can you reach BIOS settings?

If not, consider a benchtop rebuild, testing as you assemble the components to confirm that you are getting proper 'error codes'.

I've managed to get it working! I'm not sure but I think when I cleared the CMOS initially, I didn't do it correctly. This time around I left the PSU switched on while plugged in and shorted the CMOS pins, and once I turned it on there it is! Everything seems to be stable now even after OC to 3.9 ghz.

Thanks for the reply tho!!
