New vaccine from MIT and Caltech could prevent future coronavirus outbreaks

Studies shown that it can be or at least it can be infectious, I do not recall exact wording.
This is a fairly knew stuff, they need to do a lot more studies.
But I am personally very excited to have protection from some of the most dangerous cancer types
HPV is a virus that causes cancer. HPV has a vaccine. Yay progress!

It's still just a virus. It's NOT a death sentence, anymore than the seasonal flu (which by the way was renamed from the Spanish flu) is a death sentence. No, one who is otherwise healthy, is going to die if they get either virus! The, so-called Covid vaccine, which is not a vaccine at all, but a DNA changer, that has horrible health consequences!

I worked on that vaccine :)
Nice.

The anatomical complexity of the human body and spectrum of malignant cells makes it impossible to make a one size fits all vaccine. The body's own homeostasis state has a 2 cell daily average on cancer cells in a normal healthy individual. From virus serotypes, lifestyle choices, known genetic markers.
There are known genetic factors that can cause or prevent certain cancer, like Her2 gene in breast cancer, BRCA 1 and 2 genes in prostate cancer and TP53 prevents lung cancer in smoking patients.
Due to the complexity of the human body and the vast spectrum of causality in would be impossible to make a one size fits all vaccine.
Sure they can make a vaccine that targets specific protein markers in to narrow down the niche markets. If their would be a vaccine for cancer it would be plural and specific to the risk factors and area.
Update, a few things we can do until then is attempt to mitigate our exposure to known and anecdotal risk factors,( control the controllable), check DNA for known genetic factors, eat healthy, exercise etc etc.😊

Well now, that's not stopping these PitA red states from outlawing abortion, is it? You'd think they weren't Democratic. <pun intended.
Yes both parties ignore basic freedoms these days and they've done a good job making it extremely difficult for third parties to get ballot access to keep people from having a real choice.

While the libertarian view of freedom of one's own body is elegantly simple, abortion is the one area it gets complicated as another libertarian core principal is against violence to other humans. Scientific definitions of human life such as brain waves and heart beat occur quite early in unborn babies (10-12 weeks), thus abortion is not about just one's own body but another human life (and life is the most fundament right in existence because you can't enjoy any other right if you're dead). Of course, people argue over when life occurs from conception all the way to several minutes after birth.

I think you would still have partial symptoms but not times 60. More like having a skeleton key that unlocks all the doors instead of having a key that only unlocks one.
Rush it through in warp-speed like last time under emergency authorization? "Safe and effective," not. And when you're injured, like hundreds of thousands were, you have no recourse. No thanks. I don't need it and I don't want it. The way to stop these "pandemics" is to close the bio-weapon labs we have around the globe (46 in Ukraine alone). Problem solved.

Here's a far better and much less invasive solution: Properly secure or better yet outright completely burn the Wuhan Institute of Virology in China so they don't release anything like SARS and the COhinaVirusID-19 ever again into the world.

It's great to see research continuing and advancing for coronavirus vaccines. Using the same technique they might even be able to create better vaccines for influenza and other fast mutating viruses.

Kudos to MIT and Caltech.

The only thing emergency authorization did is enable production while testing was continuing. Normally the process is:
1. Clinical test>2. proven safe and effective>3. scale production for selling>4. distribute and sell
The shorted process is:
1. Clinical test & scale production >2. proven safe and effective>3. distribute and sell

In other words, the government assumed the risk of the vaccine failing the clinical test and paid companies to start scale production earlier. This cut out 1/2 year of wait time for scaling production AFTER passing the clinical tests in the normal process.

I wished they wouldn't go for mRNA delivery. They are designed to fail the distribution test (vaccine stays where it is put), or in other words, they have no problem violating the blood-brain barrier which I guess is more of cliche than any kind of science. mRNA distribution was never adequately tested, and now everyone is doing it. Although by law, any vaccine that fails the distribution test has to withdrawn and the inventory destroyed. It is just another law that is not enforced.
