A new and as yet unreleased build of Windows 10 has leaked, bringing with it some visual changes and other improvements that are yet to make it to the official Insider Preview builds.

Build 10125 is just a few build numbers ahead of the current official release (build 10122), so the main change that Microsoft has made relates to the icon set used throughout the OS. Rather than relying on the current icon set used in Windows 8.1, which itself is very similar to the set used with Windows 7 and Vista, Microsoft has now updated the icons to fit in with Windows 10's flatter visual design.

You can compare Windows 10's new icons above with those included in Windows 8.1 below.

Microsoft has also updated their new browser, Edge, in build 10125. Previously the browser was incapable of displaying full-screen content correctly, but in build 10125 that issue has been addressed. The browser also has an updated settings page featuring two panes, one for frequently accessed settings and another for advanced settings.

As Microsoft moves closer to the release of Windows 10, it's unlikely the company will add in any more new features. At this stage, the operating system's developers are locked down and focused on fixing bugs and addressing any lingering issues with Windows 10, just a few months out from an expected launch.

It's also worth noting that as Windows 10 build 10125 is an unofficial, leaked build, there could be some serious bugs included. If you do plan on installing this build, be warned that it may not function correctly, and it may require a full operating system re-install to return to the official preview builds of Windows 10.

Would be nice to get a icons that match themes. Or have an easy way to change icons. Used to like windowblinds and icon packager. But way too pricey for what it is. Just like to be able to customize everything.

Windows 10 reminds me of Linux with the way it looks, very basic and simple. Probably because they want it to run on everything from a cellphone to a desktop.

I am glad MS is giving Win 10 a fully new coat of paint. That is what I admired about Yosemite: its look was all new. Windows 8 should have had a new icon set, but hey, at least MS is taking initiative now.
