Next-gen power connector for GPUs can handle up to 600W

Is there anyone thinking on air / water coolers for 600w? We gonna need 6 fan coolers or tripple blower. Personally I think they should limit the max to 300w hard cap per card and create more efficient GPU

4. Too many fools with more money than sense? (actually that's not a question)

I don't understand comments like this. People spend their money on things they need and things they want How does someone spending their money on something they want make them a fool? If someone spent their rent money on a video card that would be foolish, but someone spending their excess money on something they want isn't foolish.

You shouldn't expect people you don't know to run their purchases past you to make sure it's okay before spending their money on something they want.

You don't?

Here's the breakdown: only a fool with more money than sense will pay stupid amounts of money, aka double the price (of a 3080 for example) for +10% more performance for a 3090 and in this case 3090 Ti (which will be +15% for 3x money).

Get it now? That's the "fool" part, because it's a waste of money.

That's other editions not reference design. Of course you can increase the TDP if you boost the clock rates...
Even with other designs I think your point still checked out. A 40% (or 60%) increase in TDP still results in a 315% increase in performance... albeit at a 215% price premium (at original MSRP).

Do I want a 600w gpu? No.

Do I want a power connection capable of providing as much power as il ever use or consider using so I never have worry about the cord being a bottleneck? Yup, don't see a problem.
Pretty much where I'm at. I'd like to see a simplification of cable management inside cases, so having a single "beefier" cable for the GPU instead of two or three cables seems like a win to me.

I'd also be potentially interested to see 3.3v and 5v rail conversion being done on the motherboard and simplify the workings of the PSU (smaller, even more efficient?), like they do with some workstation PCs and servers, but with how some motherboard power systems are already taxed as it were I'm not sure how viable that would be for high performance/enthusiast systems .

LOL so many people salty over bigger GPUs. If it angers you so much then buy a laptop TDP GPU and be happy, or go outside and touch grass.
Nobody in the high end gives a rat's arse about "muh efficiency". Also power draw /=/ efficiency, if a 600w GPU does 3x the work of a 400w GPU then the 600W model is far more efficient.
Exactly what is wrong with our highly divided civilisation.

20% of the people, consuming 80% of the resources, or smth like that.

What happens the moment I have an EV and solar gen? And I can load shift and sustain my household and my video card?

The only question I have, is after you buy and EV, a solar panel array large enough to power your household, along with a battery pack for overnight, would you actually have enough money left to buy a buy a GTX-3090 ti?

Besides, to keep up with another members trophies of two (2) GTX-3090s, would you need a bigger roof to put the panel array necessary to power them?

You feel the same way about anyone who buys a really expensive car, house, boat, etc?

Personally I like that people buy extremely expensive bleeding edge tech so more money is spent on R&D and in a year or two I benefit

Actually no, I don't feel the same way about those who buy expensive cars, houses, boats and other stuff.

You know why? Because it does not directly affect me, or at all even.

But when these "more money than sense" guys buy these ridiculous GPUs 2x, 3x price for 10% performance they confirm and encourage companies to become more scummy and scummy, so next gen GPUs are more expensive across the board, all tiers.

They affect the low and mid tiers GPUs as much as the halo tier, and that's the *****-up part and the part that I don't like. And I'm not alone in this since the low and mid tiers GPUs represent actually the bulk of sales and gamers.

Someone buying a Ferrari does not affect me buying a VW Passat (for example), but those that pay unreasonable prices for those halo GPU do. A lot.

I gave you a like for concept. But I think you could have done a bit better with syntax here:

"become more scummy and scummy"

Perhaps, "greedy and scummy", or, "scummy and greedy".Maybe even, "greedier and scummier". Just a random thought, please don't take it to heart. I'm going to put my swastika down now, and hit the sack.

That's just not how economics works. I get it. The GPU market has very little competition. Prices are high because the barrier of entry is astronomical. That doesn't mean that people buying highend SKUs are going to encourage nvidia to rise the price of all SKUs. They are already charging as much on every product that they believe they can. They will continue to do so. Hopefully Intel will at some point make a product credible enough to tamp down prices a bet

*edit*
Also I forgot to add I want people to buy Halo products because I want GPU makers to keep making bleeding edge, overengeneered products that test the limits of the chips specs so they learn things that make the next gen consumer grade chip better

Most luxury car companies are owned or affiliated with major mainstream brands and also share R&D so they can share in the same sorts of technology breakthroughs

You're gonna be in for a surprise next gen it seems...

Wait and see Lovelace and RDNA3 having the top GPUs at at least $2000 MSRP and then every all the lower tiers more expensive accordingly.

I don't disagree with you that prices are going to continue to rise. I'm saying the failure of a flagship SKU isn't going to keep prices from rising across the board on products that are selling out at retail.
