No, AMD isn't discontinuing the Radeon RX 5700 series

"cough" xfx "cough"
Mine wouldn't even boot. Swift return.
Went with MSI and have had not one glitch.
Oh well clearly, that's makes all the difference. No other AIB partner has EVER made a defective card in history, especially MSi, eh? Never mind the fact that my RX 5700 XT is my FOURTH video card with the XFX brand and they've all worked just fine (GeForce 6200, 2 x HD 4780 1GB, RX 5700 XT)

As for how "wonderful" MSi is, I once bought an MSi flagship-level motherboard (K9A2 Platinum) and it died on me after only 15 months of use (no OC, running two cards on a board with a capacity of four). It's literally the only motherboard I've ever owned that has failed on me that wasn't already at least ten years old.

Despite this, I didn't say that MSi is garbage, I worked at Tiger Direct at the time and that experience taught me that defective parts come from ALL brands. You determine how good a brand is by how good their customer service is when these defects happen (Sapphire and EVGA are great examples). So, I contacted MSi because I figured that they'd help me out since this was a top-of-the line board and I thought that they'd be embarrassed that this happened, but they weren't. They said that since they only offered a 12-month warranty, I was SOL. Now, THAT is a reason not to buy from them again and I never have. According to a recent video by Steve Burke from GamersNexus, MSi is still a terrible company:
I wouldn't be proud to own an MSi product, in fact, because of recent events involving TechSpot and ASRock, I won't even buy another ASRock product (and I have owned three ASRock motherboards, I used to really like them). It's not because I've had bad luck with them, but because their current management is a bunch of abbreviated Richards. It's the same reason that I won't buy Intel or nVidia. I don't support crooks no matter how good their products are.

Always remember, getting a product that is DOA is pure bad luck, not a commentary on the entire brand, especially when said brand has been making video cards for almost 20 years (they used to make nForce-based motherboards too). One day you'll realise that anything made by humans will have x number of bad ones out of every lot of 1,000 no matter what the product is.

It's been in the driver notes for almost a year. (HW acc bug) You work for AMDs tech support? I've read the notes on nearly every new driver since launch. It may not be in the newest release notes, but I've seen known issues come n go.

If you want to know how to disable radeon settings formerly known as Wattman it is somewhere in my post history. Or just return your card, what do I know.... ;) I mean I could just copy paste it, but I don't want to insult you.

And if your ram is not on the qvc list. Contact your mobo ts or read the manual, I mean its really easy to fix it. My manual has the quick fix, maybe yours does too.

Being ts I'd think you would know the importance of contacting ts. Be sure to tell them you are an expert. They love that. But I'm sure you know that.

Ok so the qvc thing, you need to plug in one ram stick into the "proper" slot. Boot, this allows your mobo to kind of update/recognize the ram. Shut down, put in the second stick and it's fine until you screw up the bios, update the bios or reset the bios. Cheap stix ftw.

And of course resetting the bios can smooth things out. Especially if you have been crashing. You might
I can't tell if you're being serious or not. If you are, I'm sure me calling AMD to let them know I think there's an issue with their Graphics driver will make all the difference and it'll get sorted out super speedy once I call in, In-fact, lets make it a strongly worded letter shall we...

I'm talking about the fact that RDNA2 will be significantly faster than current offerings (5700/XT), and I think that eventually (maybe after a year?) it will make its way down to 5700/XT level and replace them.
Yeah it will be I can see AMD dripping the price of the 5000 series to soften demand and strain on the newer cards.

I mean the blue screen HW acc bug is something they might tell you about pretty quick. Just like the little ram thing with the mobo mnfer. Do what I told you and report back. idk why I just wanted to grill you a bit. After you try the above. I will copy paste the next step if you need it.

btw I keep using hw for hardware and HW for Hardware Acceleration in confusing abreviational tones. You should know which is which?

contact via email, it gives them time to think
