No audio coming out from laptop

Hi everyone!

so I was watching a video but then decided to take a break and put my old Dell laptop on hibernate for about a few minutes. when I came back I logged back in played the video back but then there was no sound.

I checked if if I was just on mute. nope. on the audio tray I can see considerable activity on the volume gauge in sync to my video playing.

I tried to connect a headset. still nothing.

I tried connecting to my TV using a HDMI cable.... audio came out of my TV just fine

So I stll was perplexed why I had no audio on my laptop even through the headphone jack

I tried a system restore. still nothing

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the device.. nothing

restarted multiple times through all of the process...

anyone got any idea whats going on here ?

Have you tried shutting it down normally, let it sit a bit & restart it?
I wouldn't of done the system resore, but....
