I repair and refurbish used laptops and I have had a number that could easily be fixed with nuts when the plastic part of the case becomes stripped or broken, but I can never find them in the appropriate size.
My current scenario is a dell laptop where the metal screen frame connects to metal hinges by screws that go through them into plastic, but the plastic is stripped and broken. If I can put a nut on the other side instead the problem should be solved. Local hardware stores here only have standard sized nuts, not metric, and extensive web searching has gotten me no results. Maybe I'm just using the wrong terms, but as far as I can find there are no nuts for 2.5mm laptop screws.
Any suggestions?
