Nvidia acknowledges CPU usage spikes in GeForce driver 531.18

I believe he was referring to pc drivers which many devs have favored Nvidia as they dominate on PC. Consoles do NOT use the same drivers.
Only way devs can favour drivers is to make direct optimizations for them. And usually that is only done if Nvidia or AMD asks (=pays) them to do so. So if game is console port, it's automatically non-Nvidia optimized. Nvidia must pay, otherwise devs will not optimize for Nvida as it cost devs more time and money.

Maybe Nvidia did pay. All kinds of shady things happen in the business world.
If someone has 80% market of one product and you are a dev working on a game with that knowledge, you can't say that doesn't have some kind of effect. The nearest competitior is at 20%.
I'm using Nvidia and amd and not Intel cause iGPUs, while they make up all gpus as a whole most high end games don't factor them in as they will not run the game or will poorly run it ruining the experience. Intel dGPUs don't play a factor yet. In another year or 2, that could be a different story.

We seen stories where Nvidia drivers seemed to be favored/optimized over amd. Both have driver issues from time to time. Nvidia, seems more liked by most and has the least issues. Just how it looks. So, people will buy Nvidia. Numbers have shown that for the past decade or 2.

Where this 80% of market comes? Nvidia has around 20% total market of PC GPUs and 0% of powerful consoles.

Basically, when market decides something is "better", facts don't matter. Just look how Intel could sell abysmal products just because Intel is considered to be "standard". Even if competitor is much better in everything.

Say it ain't so, Joe. Say it ain't so, Joe. Nvidia never has driver issues, blame the player Joe!

All companies have issues but also not everyone gets those issues. People use devices differently and may never actually see a issue.

80% of the dGPU not overall gpu. Overall gpu, Intel is ahead by a mile.
This very site has talked about that. Not sure if it's was Franco or another writer who wrote an article about it.
