@Steve you want another laugh!I suspect it will be a $149.99 GTX 1050, maybe (hopefully) another 3GB card
Ohh noo not 3GB in a 1050, you would never be able to run 1080p on max settings.

You wouldn't buy a 1050 to play max settings, at least not on current AAA games.@Steve you want another laugh!

That's the joke I was asking Steve about. Apparently some feel that the 1060 is not meant to be played on lessor settings as well. You wouldn't buy a 1050 to play max settings, at least not on current AAA games.
I agree. I believe the 1060 3GB is meant for High settings at 1080p for upcoming AAA titles. I've heard before that game developers develop games to be played on high settings, the ultra settings are just "extras" for those with big budget hardware. That's the joke I was asking Steve about. Apparently some feel that the 1060 is not meant to be played on lessor settings as well.
So the AMD "does excellent" in 2 games (doom and hitman), a tech demo (ashes), and is behind in the other major dx 12 title (rotr) but is bested in all other dx11 titles? It has 11% less than the 1060.... which still makes it faster than the 480 (at least on paper)... Once we have a real review and some benchmarks, we'll know for sure - but it looks like anyone who bought the 470/480 is gonna be pretty peeved....Mate you need to read the article, this 1060 3 GB has 11% less CUDA cores. I guess Nvidia calling it a 1060 instead of a 1050 will get them extra sales with people believing they are getting full 1060 power.
They have no reason to be peeved, 470/480 does excellent in dx12 and vulkan, and thats what upcoming titles will use going forward.

to be honest almost every tech channel on youtube has recomannded the 4gb version of the gtx 960 ,I do wish you knew what you were talking about. My GTX 660 is fine for 1080p gaming. I can't help it if your gaming criteria for gaming is out the roof requiring a 1080. There is a reason crippled cards are being sold. There being sold for Gamers who can't afford all the cosmetics you cutting edge players are used to looking at.
Why do people insist that VRAM capacity isn't dictated by GPU power. Basically if you are aiming for a minimum of 60fps in modern games, then the 3GB model will be fine. You aren't going to be playing with settings that chew through VRAM if you are targeting high frame rates on this card.
Tell me cliffordcooley, why? Help me keep my sanity![]()
nice but the Nigerian scammer jokes are too old perhaps try not to embarrass yourself next time , I live in a third world country and we get every latest tech in the first week of the launch , and to be honest only small children who cant afford to buy a gaming rig by themselves play on outdated hardwareOnly a few in 3rd world economies? Have you ever been to a 3rd world country? it would be obtuse to believe everything you see or read on your 4K displays that your Titan X renders. Most 3rd world economies have the very latest tech as well, by the tons, often costing far less than than the equivalent USD.Maybe those still gaming on 720p tv's and those few in 3rd world nations with 720p monitors????
This is because they are awash in money. Seriously, Nigerian princes email me daily wanting to transfer huge sums. They're richer than us!

To be honest that means nothing. Here is one YouTuber that disagrees with that...
Practice what ??? English ?? it's my third language you probably suck at your own let alone another onetry not to embarrass yourself next time

Practice before you preach, kid.
it happens that I own an MSI GTX 960 4GB version while monitoring the vram I found out that GTA 5 . witcher 3 exceed the 2 GB barrier and sitting at 2500-2900 mem usage , paying an extra 10 dollars is not that bad if you're going to get double the frame buffer size regardless if your gpu can use all of it or notTo be honest that means nothing. you shove your own opinion into people throats by saying no one should buy the 4gb version

He was in no way referring to your English skills, the irony![]()
I think you will find that isn't what I am doing at all. I provided a detailed analysis on the subject, which is a lot more than you can say
It is worth nothing that you don't actually know how much memory is being used on your 4GB model, the games are simply allocating up to 3GB of VRAM because they can. Claiming that the 4GB is a must based on your evidence is absurd, do some 2GB vs 4GB testing and then get back to us.

Sounds like to me you are the exception that should have known how much memory you needed. Well at least now you do, and that's a great place to be. Either way that doesn't make Steve's review wrong or misguiding to the masses.no thank you very much I took your advice on the detailed analysis 8gb ram vs 16gb I wont do it again trust me
I live in one too. 1st world economy populations generally still tend to think we live in caves but that's understandable, they've never been to a 3rd world country and believe in the propaganda they see on TV. To be honest though, in places where it is poverty stricken, things are pretty dire.nice but the Nigerian scammer jokes are too old perhaps try not to embarrass yourself next time , I live in a third world country and we get every latest tech in the first week of the launch , and to be honest only small children who cant afford to buy a gaming rig by themselves play on outdated hardware
I guess our definition of "3rd World" are different. I've been all over Haiti in three visits and have been to Honduras as well. "3rd World" in my mind means a large portion of the population have dirt for floors.I live in one too. 1st world economy populations generally still tend to think we live in caves but that's understandable, they've never been to a 3rd world country and believe in the propaganda they see on TV. I live in Africa and I've seen almost all of it's countries and states. Mud huts with thatch roofs was the norm years ago. A rural man's wealth (women didn't count and still don't today) was based on the amount of cattle he owned, and in some African states it's still that way today.I guess our definition of "3rd World" are different.
