Old netgear router as modem

I've just purchased a Turris Omnia router and want to use it on my VDSL line but realise I need a modem in bridge mode.
I've dug out an old Netgear DG834G v3 modem router and converted it to modem only.

Just wondering, does anyone would know if this will slow my connection to the internet down because it's an older modem?

Or wouldn't that be an issue?

Also would I then need to connect from one of the netgear lan ports to the Omnia WAN port, or to one of the Omnia Lan ports?

After a bit more research I found some ifo that the router is ADSL which will max out at 10Mb so never mind.
