My on board video adapter is non functional. I am trying to replace it with a PCI video adapter but the issue is that I cannot see the screen in order to gain access to the BIOS and disable the on board video adapter. Anyone have any other ideas other than replacing the motherboard?

I have confirmed that the video adapter is broken at the motherboard.

It is a Emachine desktop.

Thanks!

Hahas, That is correct, no display. I am assuming that I need to first go into the BIOS and disable the on board video in order to have the PCI video card working.

No...automatic should work.

I decided to scrap that PC and salvage some of the parts for another PC. Thanks to all who tried to help. I tried a few PCI video cards with no success. Perhaps MB was damaged.
