Ctrl+W to close a browser tab is something I use pretty often. Ctrl-A for 'select all' is quite common, as is Ctrl+S to save. Ctrl-Shift+V is indeed something I use reasonably often. Plus a number of Visual Studio shortcuts I tend to use frequently (Ctrl+, Ctrl+KC, ...).

I use lots, and as some mention, Firefox has it's own useful ones (and I use certain ones in iTunes too!), but in the OS it's Win+E, Alt+Enter, Alt+Tab, Win+D, and additionally Ctrl+Alt+T in Linux
