Hello, I have a Sony Vaio with a partitioned hard drive. One partition is about 15GB's, includes all of the OS files, and has only about half a gigabyte in empty space. The other partition has random data, measures about 127GB's, and has around 100GB's in empty space. Is there any way I can merge the partitions into one large volume without losing dada? Or should I backup everything in the second partiton before deleting it? Thanks for your help.

Hi Juanra, you will have to back up anything you want to keep, it goes away when you return that partition to the rest of the drive.

Partition Magic is a 3rd party tool to split/merge partitions -- I've had great success with it (ie no loss of data)

with partition magic u might also be able to transfer the free soace from another partition to your system partition
