PC has a virus & I cant format or do anything other than access IE!

Hi, I have a virus on my computer, which is stopping me from accessing anything other than Internet Explorer. When trying to access programs or files, i get an error message along the lines of 'You do not have permission to access the specified file/path'.

I can't do anything whatsoever, so I tried to re-install xp as this would wipe the system. The CD boots up but when I click on the 'Install Windows XP' option, nothing happens.

I have tried to start the pc in Safe mode, but when the screen comes up to select safe mode, my keyboard wont move the cursor up or down - not sure if this is because I am using a wireless keyboard or not.

Can anyone help? I dont know what else to try, thanks x

Think it is because of that, is there any way to wire your keyboard for now?

If you have a receiver for the wireless keyboard, it should have a dual plug for either USB or PS2 connection. Take it out of USB and connect using PS2- I think that will load it for you. USB doesn't load in Safe Mode.
