PCI install causes XP to freeze on boot.

Can anybody help? I have recently added two sticks of 512 RAM to my ASUS A8V-E Deluxe Mobo and now I cannot get XP to fully boot with all my old PCI cards installed. I am having to use the onboard sound rather than my PCI soundcard. I have a PCI USB2 card installed as the other USB ports do not support USB2 even thought the spec says they should (this is a design fault on th ASUS mobo). At the same time I have posted another thread as teh onboard sound does not play windows sounds.
