  1. Hey,

Whenever i try to extract multiple .rar files, my PC performance drops down, everything starts to lag, even the simplest tasks, and when i checked CPU usage it was less than 20% ( for WinRar ).

    My PC conf:

    AMD Phenom II X4 940 3.0 GHz
    4GB DDR2
    Asus M4A78 Pro
    nVidia GeForce 250GTS 1GB DDR3
    Windows 7 64 Bit

Decompressing rar files is going to be tough on your CPU, RAM, and Storage.

during extraction, the limiting factor will be the I/O consecutive write speed.

with that CPU & Ram, the only other factor is the i/o performance of your system.

Make sure you BIOS is set for DMA and is not using PIO

Keep in mind that when you're extracting a rar located on your drive and you're extracting it to that drive you're both reading and writing the the drive at the same time - this will greatly impact your drive performance.
