Problem with Internet connection

I've had a black screen on my laptop before and now I've bought a new Internal Hardware for my Toshiba M105 S3041. I then installed Windows XP Pro. SP2. but now I can't get on the internet, I've installed the driver for it on my Recovery CD but I still can't get on. I can't make a Local Area Network or anything connection. I'm trying to connect wirelessly.
My Router is Verizon. It did not come with a CD, said it didn't need it. Please help, thanks.
 
Did the laptop always have Windows XP on it? If you previously had Vista, it may be a driver incompatibility. Suggest going to the manufacturers website for download of correct drivers as the previous poster said.
