That is the main reason for the console selling. It's the cheapest Blu-Ray player around. Games still have a long way to go.
 
Yes, and thats why i stated, most people buy them because of the blue ray player and not for games.

Yes the PS3 does a great job at upscaling DVD's. Now they just need to add DivX support.
My only disappointment with the new 40GB model is the lack of PS2 backwards compatibility, oddly though it does play all PS1 games, even the PSP emulates PS1 games. I really hope Sony intends to add PS2 BC in some type of update but right now that chance seem very slim. I never owned a PS2 but when I bought my 20GB PS3 I also picked up RE4, GT4 and Black because they were all PS2 games I had missed out on. I also think that 40GB is going to be more than enough for an average gamer. I regularly have to delete demos and videos on mine so I have space for more though I do plan on upgrading the HDD to a 120GB by the end of the year.

I highly doubt MOST people would buy them for the Blu-Ray player. if i was going to buy a Blu-Ray player i would just spend another 200 or whatever and get something built for that purpose.

I bought my ps3 for many reasons, 1 being it has a Blu-Ray player, but that was the lowest of my concerns.

I hope Sony updates the ps3 to play more ps2 games aswell or make the games that ps2 has for the ps3.
 
Aww man Supra plz if you do update ur PS3 HD to 120gig plz make instructions..I kno that they are provided in to PS3 Handbook but ould rather get them from someone who has actually dont it.

IMO the 40gig PS3 seemed stupid in the first place...eventually their focus will indefinitely be beating the Elite's 120Gig HD

Any one here own Warhawk?
 
I have Warhawk, Lair, Motorstorm, Full Auto 2, and Resistance. PSN ID supraholic. I refuse to buy third party multiplatform games until they aren't just crappy ports, Full Auto was an exception because that game actually runs at 1080p and looks amazing. I dont see why that game wasnt praised more for its graphics and being a launch title.

Warhawk is great, especially if you have a friends splitscreening with you or online. Theres tons of action and the maps are just big enough so you have plenty of space to move around. It was a must buy for me just because I liked the original on PS1. Too bad they dont have a demo of it because i'm sure many more people would buy it after trying it. I was in the beta and that did it for me.
 
yeah, i would much rather play the demo first, but, i might buy it from EB and if i don't really like it or anything i'll take it back, cause they have a 7 day return policy thingo. I have watched a few vids, looks real fun, but i spose you will never know till you try it.

I downloaded the EA Skate demo, That is so fun. i reccommend anyone download it if you like the Tony Hawk games or just want to try something new, it's really good, especially if you are/were or get into skateboarding in real life its a refreshing change.
 
Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2, Resistance Fall of Man, EA Skate, CoD 3, Motorstorm.

no paticular order, thats just my opinion as well. GRAW 2 and EA Skate probably the best though
 
just my opinion i never liked playing split screen games...i mean yea back with N64 and the 007 days but other than that it gets boring..but i like warhawk..GRAW2 even though it freezes on me sometimes Rainbow 6 vegas is not bad either....just waiting for COD 4 and till i get that Elite :D

Ah! this happened to be a few times, like when i would get new stuff out of my Mule it would freeze, thought it was just my copy
 
yea it happens to occur when things are getting intense...you get a tripple beep because you have to reboot your system.

A job i used to work at i remember that this "code router" thing used to cause a scanner to dis-associate its self with the laptops i used to support...so idk but its ironic that only a reboot helps when the games freeze and a tripple beep is heard...they needa fix this if it can be fixed cuz it causes frustration esp when you have not beat the game cuz u dun want it 2 freeze lol
 
Talking about hard drive space, why couldn't you just plug a 500GB portable HD into the usb ports. I have plugged in 4gb flashdrive to the usb slots and tranferred videos, music, ect.? worked great

as for best games Resistance was good, Oblivion was decent, I have pre-ordered GTA4 and Prototype and can't wait for those to come in. Prototype is still way off though, also I am anxious to see what Home looks like when they make it available. Did any of you guys get into the Home beta
