YEa i think i was installing it when everyone else and their mother was also updating. It took about 35 minutes fir it to download and then about 5 mins to install.

I still have yet to get a headset to work on my 60GB model. It registers with the PS3 and all that but yet am I to have anyone actually hear me.

Yeah well here in Australia where we have the FASTEST internet ever it takes me a little over an hour to get the firmware

If you haven't got a 1080p tv i suggest you get one if you want the picture quality to be at it's best.

I just got a 720p LCD, and don't plan on upgrading anytime soon. I love the TV.

Does the PS3 downscale the few 1080p games it has down to 1080i, or is there a setting or something?

The PS3 upscales the game to what the tv can handle, so you won't need to downscale it. But if there's an expert here you may like to correct me if im wrong.

PS4, XBOX 720 AND WII 2 ?? They are going to be released in about 5 yrs.

You, over there, i decided to google around and found out that there probably is going to be a PS4, xbox720 (which is already being worked on, well, thats what i heard on the net), and a wii 2 or whateva.

I find this interesting so lets start chatting about it. They're surely going to be better than the ones we have now...

I think your better off staying with the PS3. We have until 2013 and many people predict the world will be over. So IDK about another Next Gen console within the next 2-3 years being released, but I would not doubt people somewhere working on concepts and ideas for these predecessors.

The good thing about the PS3 is that its future proof. More blu ray DVD titles are going to come out, the power of the PS3, faster than a computer, more games are going to come out it.... etc.

So very true. I have my 360 so im all set and i needa buy my videocard for my Gaming PC and i'll really be all set. The PS3 should do well esp come march when GTA comes out

2008 seems like a good year for the PS3, I've read that by 2011 the PS3 will have surpassed the Xbox in sales and be close to the Wii.

Well the way Blue ray is going with adding them to notebooks makes the PS3 more appealing to people because it is a blue ray player so I dont think it will take that long for the PS3 to catch up the 360 came out a yr and some change before the PS3 did so I dont think its going to take an additional 3 years to catch up in Sales.

By the end, the earliest end of 2009 or 2010 I think the PS3 will catch up in sales. The HD format war, I suspect Blue ray to win and I know a lot of people who own a WII and PS3. Myself, the WII aint my cup of tea.

So no i dont think he is right i doubt the PS3 will take that long to catch up. And in four years I will not be re-visiting that snippit of a thought lol

My 360 does not get much attention and im learning that own 3 gaming systems will be hard 2 show equal attention
