Quantum Break on PC requires Windows 10, DirectX 12

Right this would explain then if it looks better but dx 12 should have lowered the specs compared to rise of the tomb rider which is far less demandingmore beautiful and not on dx12

You are comparing beauty to polygon count and texture resolution and detail and reflective and refractive capacity.
It doesn't translate directly since beauty is subjective and image stats are objective.
Its like saying a Tesla Sedan is more beautiful than an aircraft carrier but the carrier is far more complex and costly whilst the Tesla is quite simple.

For all we know, without dx12 it would have been much higher specs, and with it, TR would be lower still.

Ok let's say photographic realism... it's done with more polygons

Every game has different requirements depending on a RIDICULOUS amount of variables... unless you are involved in the coding of these games, it's impossible to state why "game A" requires more CPU/RAM/etc than "Game B".

I think were all forgetting something very important here, piracy is clearly killing the PC gaming industry, it has nothing to do with forcing you to upgrade to Windows 10 to get full advantage of DX12, even if Windows 7 could technically be updated to the new API standard. When Vista did it with DX10 it made sense, the OS was not based entirely on XP like Windows 10 is based on 8.1/7/Vista, Microsoft is just upset with how poorly sales are despite the hype they attempted to generate towards Windows 10. So they turn their attention towards gamers, those of us without the choice if we want to stay up to date with the latest games and new features WILL be FORCED to switch over, those saying **** like "Stop crying and just don't buy it." just don't realize this is the beginning of the end for gamers on the now "Old" OS, deemed so by Microsoft and Microsoft alone. I'm at odds with whether to hold the developer at fault, to a certain extent, yes you can solely based on the fact they don't wish to spend time porting the game over to DX11, which in all fairness makes sense, they want to release a single version of their title designed to look as good as it can, this is a good thing. Microsoft not developing an update for Windows 7 to support DX12, that I can more confidently say is the **** move.

so MS is upset with "how poorly" sales are and they decided...to give Win10 for free?? lol right. Just FYI they're not making any money of their OS, they just fear the competition, ie google's Android OS coming to desktops.

To the uneducated; NOTHING is free... Dig a bit deeper. 10 has a ton of data collection which is the real piracy of this decade. Also what facebook and google make their money on and I spend a considerable time avoiding. Due to this, there is zero room for windows 10 right now until 1) it can be for-sure disabled in all forms and 2) update can be also blocked.. I update what I need and I inspect all "security" updates before install. I am not the sheep of the world that does whatever M$ tells them too just cause it was 'free'.

get a clue. it's not just wanting your "info". MS fears the number 1 mostly used OS in the world coming to desktop: Android. The landscape has changed, they recognize that, they want it to be free to have a large user base to sell their services/software on. Like they really care about YOUR insignificant info.

You don't need more polygons if the map is still vacant. It doesn't matter how many polygons you have, if your map is still unbelievably barren. More realistic maps can be made without higher polygon or pixel counts.

Xbox One -- waste of tech. (n)
Upgrading to 10 -- quantum breakdown of the brain.(n)
Why stop there? Using ANY windows product -- quantum breakdown of the cerebral cortex and medulla oblongota and corpus callosum combined.
If your going to rip MS go all or nothing. :)

Halo 2 and Shadowrun
Difference is Vista wasn't a terrible OS like 8 or 10, from a consumer standpoint. Still had a whole bunch of classic features that XP did and didn't violate your privacy or preferences.

That started to change when 7 hit (removed classic features, forced development of programs to add them back). 8 flipped the boat and 10 tried to repair it, while forcing more things down your throat that nobody wants.

I'll take Vista over 10 any day.

You can't say nobody wants the things in WX. You can only say if you want them or not.
