Questionable Java update

I was thinking of just create a folder somewhere on your hard drive. But never mind that. Unless all these 112 files are in the same folder, it'll be a pain to search for them and copy them to a backup folder.

Best option is to create a restore point, then delete those files.

Sorry for the confusion.

No idea why update notification wasn't sent for this thread either.

Ok, I think I remember how to create a restore point so I'll do that & delete the javara.log

Did you mean Java 6 update 31 ??

Oops, forgot to self-check. Yes, update 31.

Ok, after I deleted the above, I did another search & found 111 files this time.

Hopefully, after all traces are removed, you'll be able to install Java and get it working.

I get this
FatalError.jpg

trying to remove it.

I'm only curious, wouldn't I be able to get rid of ALL java if I went to Start>Search>file & Folders type in java & once done, delete it??

You mean search for the java and deleting them manually yourself? I don't think that's a good idea. While it'll delete the files in that particular folder, it's possible that the installation program made registry entries and maybe copied some files to the Windows folder.

No change. Still getting that fatal error.
Should I try safe mode?

Is the Java folder still there? Or has it been deleted from "c:\program files"?

What about files? I"m thinking maybe files got deleted and the uninstaller gave that error because no files are there?

You can try it in safe mode and see if that works. Or use Revo, think you mentioned something about it some posts ago.

Safe mode didn't work & after using revo, still had lotsa files in Start>search>files & folders.
Would it help you if I pasted the results of that search in a reply here?
Of course it won't show the path, but you'll see what is there.

So you're searching for files yourself using Window's search function, or is it part of Javara's search for unless files? (fyi, I haven't tried Javara)

With Window's search, if you use detail view, you should be able to see the folder location, size, type, etc.

Windows. I click Start>Search>Files and Folders>type in java & in the drop down menu I click on My Computer & then Start to start the search. I'll check out the "detail view".

It IS in detail view.

So did you click on the Next> prompt and all other prompts to complete the Fix? Then go to the Java link I previously provided to update to the latest version?
