To be honest mate, i've run out of ideas to help with, and most of these guys won't post if they don't know the answer to your questions..

As probably the last ideas that comes to my head are:
- dirty power > try other power points, different power circuits, friends place etc.
- motherboard is faulty > RMA/Replace
- get another sound card (external or internal)
- visit the Asus forum http://vip.asus.com/forum/default.aspx?SLanguage=en-us

Asus is useless

Tried multiple places

No room for a sound card really

And the big thing is I really dont wana RMA the mobo :)

Bad Audio

Hey all,

I recently built a new computer, and I have been having a sound issue once in a while when playing a game/watching movies. The sound will be going okay, and all of a sudden i get this loud static sound, which goes away after a few seconds when playing a game or just ffwding/rewinding watching a video.

Any ideas? I mean, it isnt a huge issue, but it is a bit of a nuisance.

Cheers:)
Hello. I've been having this problem as well, however, this is the complete opposite. When I have a PCI Sound Card in use, my Asus A8V dispatches serious static and pops/clicks. Especially during high CPU usage (i.e:BF2 and MP3's). I tried every home brew driver as well as Creative Audigy's ZS'. I also tried to use another audio card to see, this one being an M-Audio. Same results.

I am currently using an AMD 3000+ Winchester CPU OC'd to 2.1Ghz (44c load).
My HT Link is at 1166Mhz and RAM runs at 233.3Mhz. It's 2Gb (2x1Gb) of OCZ PC3200 400. 460watt generic PSU. I would really appreciate some input on this as I detest Realtec's Audio sampling. I am a guitar player and it's awful to have to decrease the audio quality of an already poor source. Any ideas guys? I'm completely out.

P.S.: Be yourself, No one else. J. Shinder
