Range insufficiant

Hi guys,
I need to know what the best way of extending my wireless network range around my flat. (I will attach a sketch of my house). I have already tried a second router but then only one would work at a time. I have a Orange broadband connection with a livebox. Please help me out!,

Also I need range to reach back room (where desktop is)

Have you tried perhaps just moving the router to a more central location?

No I cant because of the location of the phone line sockets
