Renewable energy sources are now used for a third of the world's electricity needs

It's a shame Nuclear energy failed politically here in the USA, we could been almost carbon neutral, and may have completed work on Fusion Reactors by now.
What's even sadder is that, when we do get feasible fusion power, environmentalists will oppose it just as stringently as they do hydroelectric and nuclear. As environmentalist icon Paul Ehrlich said, "giving society an abundant source of cheap clear power is like giving a machine gun to an ***** child." They truly believe this.

That's a significant milestone! The fact that renewable energy sources now account for a third of the world's electricity needs marks a substantial shift towards a more sustainable and environmentally friendly energy landscape. This transition underscores the growing importance of renewable energy technologies such as solar, wind, hydroelectric, and geothermal power in meeting global energy demands while reducing carbon emissions and mitigating climate change. It's a positive step towards a more sustainable future, but continued efforts and investments in renewable energy infrastructure and policies will be essential to further accelerate this transition and achieve a fully sustainable energy system.

And yet nonbelievers still have the nerv to keep investing on fossil fuels.

Sadly those are the very same people having kids of their own.

you need fossil fuels to run those windmills. My F150 V8 uses 6 gallons of oil a year, and it can be recycled. your average wind turbine uses 80 Gallons of oil per year.. Please explain the investment to me.

Believe it or not, sometimes the sun doesnt shine, and the wind doesnt blow! You still need baseline power during those times so you can post on /r/childfree about how totally not mad you are at regular people leading regular lives ; - )
You will never convince the whimpering woke liberal brat to believe anything other then what the the liberal media programs them to believe.

Bwahahaha, the right trash religion that relies on 'feels' and not science, personified by the orange *****, criticising people that actually think rather than just regurgitate what their masters order them to (and who are laughing at them). That's how the human race goes extinct, deservedly 🤣

Its the left making laws on feelings, not reality or science. Good thing the NAIA just banned transgenders from womans soccer.

I wouldn't say it failed. It was just brought to a crawl. Temporarily.
A new reactor went online just a year ago in Georgia.

And check this out for the near future.
Well at least that's some good news. We really do need to decommission out elderly gen II reactors. Sadly, at least for the michigan Fermi project, as of 2015 the reactor was approved but no plans were in place for construction, largely due to cost and time constraints in getting the reactor approved.

"The report also says Michigan has a good safety record for its nuclear facilities. But critics say the drafters did not mention a 1966 accident at the Fermi I plant (shuttered since 1972) that melted a portion of the plant's fuel. They say the report seriously downplays the risks of nuclear energy."

They're hinging on a single incident, in which a partial meltdown was contained by safety protocol and no material was released, on a prototype breeder design, as if it was on par with Fukushima or Chernobyl and a reason to prevent construction. Absolutely ridiculous. Question is, will they push through the protests and commit to the building of a new reactor?

.... as if it was on par with Fukushima or Chernobyl.
Here's something even crazier. The tsunami that led to Fukushima killed 18,000 people instantly, whereas the meltdown itself killed between 0 and 1 additional people through excess cancer deaths over the next 30 years. Yet despite that disparity, Japan spent tens pf billions of dollars to shut down other plants, and less than 1/10,000 as much on better sea walls to prevent future tsunami events.

Its the left making laws on feelings, not reality or science.
Wait, you mean I don't magically transform into a woman because I 'feel' like one?

And if we invested in geothermal?...
