Replaced Laptop Screen but Wont Turn On When Installed

Hi, does anyone know what the problem is? I took out the screen of my old laptop, and put a replacement screen in. The screen its self (Samsung) is exactly the same model as the old one, except the inverter board looks a bit different. The laptop turns on fine with no screen plugged in, but when when I plug the new screen in, the only thing that turns on is the power supply light. I tried removing the new screen and it turned on fine. It's only when the screen is plugged in when it doesn't turn on. Is it because it's the wrong inverter board? I still have the old one. Should I just switch the boards? Thanks for all the help.

**Update: I tried replacing the inverter board, but the connecter with 6 pins wont fit...

The inverters I have seen only have 2 pins on each side

Weird, both of mine have a side with 2 pins and a side with 6...
