I own a Linksys WRT54GS router. My cousin came over with his laptop and needed to use the net, so we plugged an ethernet cable from a free port in the back of the router to his laptop to give him access. It was not working, yet it usually works with my other friends' laptops.

He then tried to connect through wireless, but I couldn't remember the WAP key, so I did a reset using the button in the back. Since I did that, (I'm on Vista, btw) when I click on the network icon and try to connect to a wireless network, my network down up twice as Linksys and Linksys 2, both unprotected.

My questions:
Why does it show up twice?
and
What are the settings I should change from factory setting?

Delete both Linksys items in Vista. Open the Linksys setup utility and let it configure the router as if this was the first time using the software

I fixed the problem. The router was transmitting both in B and G mode. Once I changed it to only one mode, only 1 network was detected.
