hi,
i'm creating a web page in asp.net.it displays members of a group in a grid view and each cell is a link to the member's personal site.i want to display a snapshot of the member's site when a person hovers the mouse over a cell.
for this the snapshot of the sites are already stored in a database.

i want to know to do this which of the following is more suitable.ajax or JavaScript?
and can anyone help me in starting the whole thing?i have no idea of where to start.
i went through lot of forums and now i'm really very confused.
i'm new to the asp.net.
any help regard this is really appreciated.thank you.

I have seen something like what you are looking for. It is called Snap Shots.. You can see it on a live web site here http://www.casahistoria.net/mexico_brazil.htm Just hold the mouse over one of the links on the page and you will see the snap shots. Not sure if it's Java, Javascript or what but it may be what you are looking for,, It seems to be free but you have to register with the company. I have not used it for any of my web sites but it looks pretty good. Here is a link to their main page http://www.snap.com/ Also I found out you can install an add-on for your browser that will allow the snapshots for any web site including google searches and such.

hey thanks.
i'll try on that.
but i'm suppose to do it as an application but if i couldn't find away i'll try this.
thanks alot
