RTX 2080 Super matches the Titan V in leaked benchmark

GBs don’t mean as much as you think. It certainly isn’t helping in FPS or anything, at least not 8gb vs 11gb. TechSpot has already done tests on this.
1080 it is a great card to begin with, no reason to even upgrade for awhile. Want a upgrade then get a 2080 ti.

I'm aware of that but it still doesn't sit right with me.
I just feel a card you're upgrading to years down the road shouldn't have less VRAM than with you currently have. It just seems like a backwards step to me.

I can imagine very few 1080 Ti owners are going to upgrade over 10% for the same price they paid for their 1080 Ti 3 years ago. This card simply isn't enticing.

The market hasn't given 1080Ti owners a reason to upgrade yet.

RTX supporting games are still missing in action.

I just got through playing Crysis/ Warhead and Crysis 2 on my laptop which is way less powerful than a 1080Ti and it ran FLAWLESSLY in ULTRA settings with framerates above 60FPS at all times in 1080p.

The 2080 Super and 2080 both make more sense to a 1080p or 1440p gamer than my 2080TiFTW3.

Nobody cares about the Titan V... they want to know how much more performance over the RTX 2080 does the RTX 2080 SUPER have, in games.

And if it is only 10% then Jensen will be a laughing stock of the GPU industry. Because SUPER is all Nvidia has for the next year. Nvidia slow..

The Titan V doesn't make any sense when the 2080Ti costs half as much (if not less).

It's the TITAN RTX I'd go for if I didn't already have the 2080TiFTW3. And to be perfectly honest, there's no games on the market worth the cost.

The 2070 Super often beats the 1080 Ti and is much better value than the 2080 Super IMO for $200 less. But I wouldn't upgrade the 1080Ti for any current card, I'm waiting for Navi+ and Ampere. However I also have a 1070 that will struggle with many newer titles at 1440p, so that's the card I'm looking to replace and on the balance I think a custom RX 5700XT is the way to go.

You need to check more benchmarks. The 2070 Super is slower than the 1080Ti overall. The 1080Ti trades blows with the 2080 and even beats it in some games. The extra VRAM (even though it's a bit slower) is an advantage.

The 2080 Super is around 10-12% faster than the 1080Ti and 2080, which makes it a bad upgrade from either of these GPU's. I've been saying for a very long time now that if you bought the 1080Ti when it launched, you made the best investment EVER when it comes to a flagship GPU. Flagship GPU's are almost always a bad investment, because they cost so much and are quickly matched by the mid-tier cards of the next generation. This has not been the case with the 1080Ti. It has remained right up there with the 2080 as one of the fastest consumer GPU's you can own and the 2080 Super barely even knocks it down a peg. The 1080Ti is still going to be a hell of a buy for anyone that can find it for a good price. And everyone that's owned one for the last three years can remain really happy they made such a good investment.

Are you going to pay $700 for a card with only 8GB of memory?
I play at 1080p so it doesn't really matter. I was just saying the fully enabled cards are all that interest me. You going to pay $700 for a gimped card like the 1080 Ti?

This might be a good point to upgrade my 980Ti from.

2080Ti kept me thinking too much for the not-so convincing 4K results. If 2080Ti can do MINIMUM 60fps at 4K maxed out in all currently available games, I guess it would be worth it, but for now, it's not up to it yet.

2080 Super @ 1440p and 1080p maxed out with minimum 60fps is a great option for my upgrade.

I play at 4K so I picked a Radeon VII with my 1975Mhz OC it isn't any slower than average RTX2080 but it has double the memory :)

You are talking about how it isn't slower. The way you tout the memory you would think it actually made a difference.

Of course the memory makes a difference, once you run out of it, it wont make a difference how much extra performance you might have left in the card you will have to cut details. We went through this so many times, GTX 770 2GB vs 4GB or GTX960 2GB vs 4GB, the 4GB variants always proved to be better buy over time :)

Then just get a Radeon 5700 for $349. Gobs faster than your 980ti and reaches as far as the 2070 and beyond in some games. Or for $50 bucks more a XT, that on occasion trades blows with the RTX2080.

That way, in 5 months time when big-navi hits, you didn't have to pay that massive Turing tax on the 2080 Super.

Too bad I don't like the reference design blower fan of the 5700 series. And adding a 3rd-party GPU fan like that from Arctic increases the usage cost anyway.

If you don't like reference designs, then do not get a reference design.
Here and Here.... for starters.

wtf?

If games could have I use pcie 4.0 bandwidth then its ok. if games needing more then a few fps is it worth it... ??? we just have to wait for intel pcie 5.0 6.0 and cad 3dmarks there after.

Not available here. All the cards I have seen so far here only have reference design. And even if I import, the price will soon match nvidia's lineup. And all you have shown are just press releases. wtf indeed.
