Russian tanks are using chips from household appliances due to sanctions

Liberal media: Ukraine is doing well - Russia is losing

REALITY: Europe is suffering. Russia is flattening Ukraine.
Both are true and I can find plenty of evidence for both in basically any coverage from any source. The photographic evidence of parts of Ukraine being flattened is undeniable and is a major source of the outrage found in Western media of all stripes. Nonetheless, Ukraine is doing well because they are still an independent country, have not yet capitulated, and are destroying a lot of Russian military assets. They're certainly exceeding the original expectations of Russia enjoying a quick and easy victory. This war is causing economic "suffering" everywhere although I say it in quotes because whatever the inconveniences in Europe or elsewhere it doesn't really compare to having your entire city flattened so maybe a more measured word would be more appropriate.

Raimondo said US technology exports to Russia have sunk by almost 70 percent since Russia started its invasion in late February. Moreover, spokesperson from the US Commerce department Robyn Patterson said US component shipments to Russia have fallen by 85 percent in the last year. Raimondo said the Ukrainian findings prove the sanctions are successfully diminishing Russia's war effort.

Silly article. The ability to dual purpose appliance electronics for weapons is actually a plus. If you can fix a tank with a washing machine chip, that's fantastic. Rather than ordering a new $10,000 motherboard for your Abrams tank or Apache helicopter.

This concept of 'US technology' is nonsense. How much of your computer was built in the US? Not much.

Western elites have shot themselves in the gonads, deftly removing not one but both. They not only stole $300 billion in Russian assets but most major corporations like MS, Boeing, Apple have defaulted on their Russian support contracts. That will force Russia to nationalize their intellectual property. Russia literally has no choice. So Russia will probably reverse engineer Windows, iPhone, and many other Western products. The revenue lost to the West probably amounts to trillions of dollars. For more tech heavy stuff, Russia will just go to China directly. And Russia will develop their own products.

But the bottom line is this. In any protracted standoff, Russia will win. The West simply doesn't have enough energy or food. Russian gas is dirt cheap, around $2.65 / gallon or 0.7 Euro / liter.

I'm not saying this is good. I'm merely pointing out the ignorance of Western pundits who think Russia is a backward, stupid nation. Putin is extremely smart. This move has been planned for decades. It will result in a profound restructuring in the global pecking order.

Not quite. Europe gets over 40% of all their energy from Russia. And there's no way to replace that.
Europe is actually replacing that. There was no need earlier as Europe was trying to treat Russia as commercial partner, and it was beneficial for two sides, but now this will be replaced very quickly in most of the europe, with Hungary probably being the slowest as they really like authoritarian approach and were leaning towards russia for years.
So no worries, Europe will become more united and less dependant, and russia - will be bought by China quickly.

Russia is indeed flattening Ukraine. That's the only true thing that you've said. And it's utterly barbarous, appalling and without any actual justification. The rest of your comments are lies, precisely what the current Russian regime runs on. It will collapse it just as it did the Soviet Union.

That's almost comical. It is true that Mariopol is naught but dust and ashes.

That's so that when the a**hole in charge, (Putin) walks in, he can pronounce, (as have all emperors, dictators, potentates, and such, before him), "these lands and all that I survey are mine alone". That's assuming he ever comes out behind his 50 foot long "conference table", or out of his bunker.

1941: Europe is suffering, Germany is flattening Ukraine.
You, russians, are so monothematic
Besides, actually situation with media reporting on this war is more complicated:
Western media bias: Ukraine is doing well - Russia is losing.
Western media in general: Ukraine will win/Russia will win.
Russian media bias: Russia is doing well - Ukraine is losing.
Russian media in general: Ukraine will lose/Russia will win.

Almost the same, so I don't know what You're complaining about?
By the way, if russia is so great, how about You pack Your bags and go back to the motherland, comrade? Why live and suffer under capitalistic oppression in this spoiled West?

The energy and food resources will be replaced. It will lead to higher prices for a while, but it's ultimately an inconvenience in the grand scheme of things. The idea that sanctions will hit the west harder is propaganda - much like Putin's reputation for being clever. That one was utterly busted by Ukraine two months ago.

But it has half of the whole number of nuclear weapons in the planet.

They're rumoured to have around 1,500 in strategic deployment, I.e. ready to fire. About the same as the US, give or take. In any case it's splitting hairs. Only a small fraction of those would be enough to complete a virtual armageddon in the space of an hour. Depressing thought.

Anyone who comprehends the horror inherent in these things doesn't engage in willy waving.

Dude, you keep posting last week's news but you don't provide context.

To the "upside", nuclear winter would reverse the current climate change situation.

I love how everyone thinks they know what’s going on in the Ukraine right now. The fact is we have no idea and we only read propaganda, this story is exactly that. It’s a story designed to show the Ukraine in a positive light and Russia as losing. The Russians have clearly had success in attacking but the media doesn’t report it when it happens.

But the fact is the Russians are not a simple nation. They have advanced technology, I mean their space programme has almost always been ahead of the Americans (with exception to the Apollo programme).

Just remember that since the war started, western nations have paid Putin 30x as much for oil and gas than they have spent on military aid for the Ukraine. The western hypocrisy is strong here. I’m even willing to bet most Europeans would rather see the Ukraine fall than pay more for their energy.

Part of it can be replaced. New oil and gas pipelines from the middle east are already being built. Shipments of oil and gas from other countries have increased.
France is betting on building more nuclear reactors.
And if Germany hadn't gone full retard and closed it's reactor some years ago, it's dependency on Russia would be lesser.

But here is the thing, if Russia had a stable democratic government, that put diplomatic relations ahead of military threats and invasions, we could all live in a better place, where trade could be done freely to the advantage of all countries.
Nope. USA government is as aggressive as Russian government. With superpowers around we will never live in peace. The problem is even deeper, because the presence of governments ruins our happiness. Why should we need a government? We are not children.

Yes, Putin, Russia, press on into obscurity and oblivion. Feel free to continue to destroy yourselves. The rest of the world will welcome it just like they welcomed the "loss" of Saddam Hussein and Osama bin Laden.
And George Bush Jr. too.

And George Bush Jr. too.
I get what you are saying. But Iraq was a supporter of 9\11, so you know.
Also, Hussein basically put a hit out on Bush Sr. so, he got what he deserved in my opinion.

It wasn't for land.
It wasn't for resources.
And in fact it sure as hell was more like removing a nazi type than what Puttie is claiming.

So I'm cool with Russia's destruction if necessary. At least Putties.

Why do they have that garmin there? I think it's simple.
Russian equipment uses the GLONASS global positioning system for navigation (you know, the one that, together with GPS (USA), BEIDU (China) and GALILEO (EU) is used in many mobile phones) and inertial navigation (this has been used since the1950s by everyone and is accurate enough, even more so today).
Here they are using a cheap GARMIN GPS terminal to ensure that the GPS signal is being effectively jammed by their ECM/EW systems. Or vice versa, if the Ukrainians are using ECM to jam GLONASS signals (in theory harder than jam GPS), then use GPS as a backup (Ukrainian forces are using GPS so they won't jam their own positioning system)
