So Gear VR tech doesn't use the phone's screen?
Yes, using OLED "folding" screens, using that technology, would be VERY lightweight. With the current VR, they are a
bit on the bulky side, save for the google cardboard. Obviously that is a cheap solution, but if VR is going to really
go, it needs to be less bulky, in my opinion.
Shoot, when I got my first BT headset, a two piece Plantronics M-1500 (one part was the headset, the other module
plugged into the headphone jack since BT wasn't on the phones yet), it was very inconvenient, but the necessary
evil if you drove a car with a clutch to be somewhat hands free. VR will take off but you'd think they would come up
with some idea of incorporating flexible screens into the VR, and using wifi or BT to transmit the info to the VR headset.
